clutch problems

Hey I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me what is wrong with my clutch it feels very spongy and the clutch releases way at the bottom. Also I have to pump the clutch in neutral for a while before I can put it in reverse. If anyone can shade some light on this problem that would be greatly appreciated.

Worn slave cylinder? Does fluid seem to disappear from the reservoir?

Master cylinder could be bad so could the slave cylinder. Could have a leak.

if its the master and slave cylinder how much money are we talking about to fix that? I just spent a whole bunch on a streetfire kit and adjusting it by the body shop so it figures something mechanical would go wrong.

slaves are about 100cnd and masters are about 200cnd(depends on the brand and where you go/live)
If theres no leaks and you need to pump to release the clutch..Master sounds faulty
To change a slave the transaxle needs to come out.
The master is a piece of cake, 30mins and your done.

I know it supposed to release at the bottom but this is releasing a lot sooner than I'm used to

Just for thoughts, have you been driving this car for awhile or just get it. Normally to get my car in reverse i shift to 1st so that it aligns the gears and then shift into reverse. Otherwise it'll grind or just not go in place.
And if your saying it's spongy, well when you press a hydraulic lever and it feels spongy..you normally have air bubble in the line. So for starts when your haveing trouble shifting into reverse..align the gears by shifting into 1st gear then into reverse.
For the spongy feeling, bleed the hydraulic clutch. It's done the same like brakes. The bleed screw is located on the end of the slave cylinder. If you don't know where that is, just follow the black pipe from the master cylinder to the transaxle. You should see the pipe go into the trans then out to a fitting..theres your bleeder. Don't pump the pedal fast cause thatt'll make air bubbles.
The clutch pedal to the floor, well that's why i asked if you had the car for awhile or just get it. Because the previous owner could have installed a new clutch..being why you have to push more than your used to, near the floor.
