yes..thats right...when i'm in first gear, the car makes a grinding sound...and its usually not when i am giving it gas, its more when i let off the accelerator and the car is in first (like in parking lots and anywhere else u'd stay in first). I want to know what it is and how to fix it...its made it for awhile now..and my car is a 2002 z24 cavalier......so its not that old, it shouldn't be making noise....its kind of embarassing to be rolling by people and your car sounding like sh*t...please help me figure out what it is and how to fix it, thanks

the only solution is gettin the tranny fluid replaced with saturn fluid. worked a bit for me but theres really no complete solution.

I hear some kind of B&M tranny fluid will muffle it but it wont go away completely. Its not a problem they all do it.
