well i put in a new hood cable and i must of unhooked this thing anyway ever since i get a CEL somehing about EGR wondering if this had anything to do with it? or where does it go thanx
i also have the 2.4L if that helps

Thats the vent tube from the transmission.It doesnt connect to anything.

sure about that i get a check EGR CEL.. and i wa wdonering if it had anything to do with it

Yep, it's a vent tube. One end is connected to the trans on top near the shifter linkage selector(little "L" shaped metal tube outa transaxle(2-3 inchs long). The other end is vented into the air, so it doesn't connect to anything. But if i remember there was a bulletin to cut the tube smaller(forget how much off) to stop the half shaft input seals from leaking
correct me if im wrong, but i believe that is not a vent tube at all. its just a dipstick type thing, so that you can find your tranny cap on top of the tranny under all the other engine parts. if you unscrew your tranny cap and look under it, there is no hole. at least mine doesnt have one. so i took mine off because it was bugging me.
its just so you dont lose your tranny cap by dropping it, etc.

My Sunfire GT has it, no EGR CEL, and looks just like it, i just left it alone, figured it was just something attached to the tranny.
