Hey guys. I am attempting my first oil change in my 2004 Eco Sunfire and for the life of me I can't find the filter. Can someone please hook me up with the info I so need. TIA.
Look on your intake manifold ( under in the intake piping, if you have an aftermarket intake , it should be easier to see ) , on the right side there is a little cutout , look underneathe it , its a big 32mm bolt , unscrew it , and there is a drop in filter in there.
haha i am doin the same thing today and the manual doesn't show the filter location. thanks.
I got it. Thanks guys. I was looking for a filter like in all my previous cars, non-GM models.
the ECO uses a Fram 9018 drop in style filter, weither or not its better than a normal styled filter (ie one thats external) is beyond me. Personally, its easier to change oil in an ECOTEC than say the LN2 or 2200, or LD9 (which is pretty easy to change in itself).
Yeah, this is my first xperience with the drop in oil filter. I was looking for like 30 minutes for an oil filter. Thanks to the good ole internet I found a break down of the 2.2 eco engine which showed the filter location. Now I know.
yea i was trying to find it in my 05 the other day for my first oil change.....i figured it was that drop in but i duno i guess they work as good as the older style??? who knows
