Lube kit for steering shaft?
Monday, September 26, 2005 5:44 PM
My front end has been popping for sometime now. It isn't the strut mounts & it only does it when I turn the wheel either way. In my fiance's old 01 Cavie, the dealer put a lube kit in the steering & it solved the problem in hers. She had the extended warranty so it was free. I am wanting to do this on mine, but I didn't know if anyone knew about it & how to do it?
Thanks!

According to Gm they want to replace the intermediate shaft....if you want you can buy a lubricating kit i believe and try it that way......just remove the shaft and lubricate the inside of it....the kit includes a syringe and lube to do this

They have a list on what vehicles this happens to.......Bonnevilles, Monte Carlos, Impalas, Grand Prix, Buick Regals and of course the cavalier/sunfire

hope this helps
