1993 cavalier......blower works good on heat but the heat comming out of the vents smells like ass....lemme know whats up with that....i'm thinking it needs a coolant flush or the heater core is screwed.....how bad is it to install a new heater core

Firstly, have you checked under the fresh air intake slots/cowl vent in front of the windshield.
If you remove the windscreen wipers and I think 7 Phillips screws,(3 at the front,2 at the vents and one at each side horizontally from the front) ease it off-your washer hose will still be attached.
Check there are no mice nests, leaves or something else smelly in there. Make sure any water can drain away.
Then if all is clear
The heater core, if leaking has a drain in the engine bay, almost where the front seat passengers left foot would be. You would be loosing coolant and it vents from there.
Heater core is sorta easy to do-but akward and fiddly. Once all the trim is off it's two hoses and four screws.
The "Once all the trim is off" is the longest job! Removing the front seats while you do this is a good idea.
If you do a search, people have documented the heater core change.
Hope this helps
