ok so i did a swap a long time ago...and now i want it to run on an eco harness and computer

problem is...when i put in the eco harness and computer...the theft lock screws me...i have tried every which way to get it to work...but i have no luck...

now im thinking if i get a ignition switch with a key from a junkyard that it should work...the only thing is..would it work with any ECM, or would i need the same ECM from the car that i get the igntion switch from?

I don't think a different ignition switch and key will make a difference....as far as I know, there's no chip in the key or the ignition cylinder.....my '03 Ecotec Cavi doesn't have a chipped key....

I think what may be causing your problem is the VIN in the ECM doesn't match the VIN in the other modules - but again, I'm not entirely sure of that...

No chip in the key. You got another prob not sure what it is but I wouldn't want to see you buy things you don't need.

hmmmmmmmm...what if i took it to a dealer and flashed the ecm? maybe?

Hows your gauge cluster working? On Slaminsunfires car his cluster is dead and its the reason he has problems. Just a thought.

you will need to replace the guage cluster, bcm, and all the serial cllass 2 wiring from a doner car inorder for all of this to work properly..... have fun

does all of it need to be from the same car?

? But I'd say no as long as its from the same year you should be ok.
