Im having a clicking noise whenever I turn the wheel, my brotherinlaw told me to check the cv boots, which I checked all 4, both sides, inner and outer, they look fine, no tears that I can see, or leaking grease. the power steering level is OK. any other ideas?
also, I dont know if this related to the problem above, but when I turn my steering wheel back and forthit sounds like it makes a high pitched wheezing sound(best explanation I could come up with) What could be causing this?
sounds like your cv joints are bad. They will make a clunking noise when turning especially in parking lots. Is it one side or both? If its just one side replace that cv joint/driveshaft.
You might try changing your power steering fluid to eliminate the other wheezing sound. My guess is its bad power steering fluid. If it gets air bubbles in it or is low it will make that moaning wheezing sound. FIRST try turning your steering wheel lock to lock with the car running to try to work out any air bubbles that might be in the power steering system.

This bulletin is being revised to update Grand Prix model year information, and include repair information to prevent damage to the SIR coil. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 04-02-35-004B (Section 02 - Steering).
Condition
Some customers may comment on a clunk type noise coming from the front of the vehicle during a turning maneuver. This condition may also be felt through the steering wheel when the vehicle is stationary and the wheel is rotated from steering stop to steering stop.
Cause
The clunk noise may be caused by a stick-slip condition in the intermediate shaft. An interaction with the steering system creates a vibration that travels up the steering column to the steering wheel.
Correction
DO THIS
Replace Intermediate Steering Shaft
Notice: : The wheels of the vehicle must be straight ahead and the steering column in the LOCK position before disconnecting the steering column or intermediate shaft from the steering gear. Failure to do so will cause the SIR coil assembly to become uncentered, which may cause damage to the coil assembly. Insert J 42640 (steering column anti-rotation pin) into the steering column access hole in order to lock the steering column.
A new intermediate steering shaft has been released to address the clunk noise.
Important: Engineering changes have been made to the Service Parts available through SPO. The Service Parts for the vehicles listed in this bulletin will no longer require lubrication of the Intermediate Steering Shaft.
Install a new shaft following the Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement procedure in the Steering Wheel and Column sub-section of the Service Manual.

Shaune Drake is probably right if its a 1 clunk thing and it does it when the car is stopped. If it clunks a few times when you turn the wheel while driving its probably the cv joint. So are you driving or not and 1 clunk or more
yeah i agree it is your cv shafts, this is a easy job just timely dont pay someone 300 bucks to bo it just do it your self for like 120
yup its the shafts, i just got mine done about 3 weeks ago. cost 200 bucks to get it installed (i had a lot of running around to do or i would of done it myself) plus i got a lifetime warranty on it so i can get it replaced for free if it breaks again
