I was looking at my 2001 Cavalier and the bottom of the doors there is some rust, its just surface rust but some of the paint is flaking off. Whats the warranty for corrosion on cavaliers? and could I get recompensated for this?

Surface rust isn't covered by the rust warranty. That would only possibly be covered by the 3/36 bumper-to-bumper. The extended rust warranty is a rust-through warranty.
an 01 with rust? my 98 Sunfire's only got some on the subframe, which was sort of a disappointment, can that be sanded and repainted/treated?
so i guess i should probably sand it down to clean it up then i'll spray some primer or tar on there and it should help
if you are gona spray it with anything, spray it with oil, mix in some used motor oil in with some grease to thicken it up. spraying it with primer will do absolutely nothing, primer holds moisture, which means if water gets on it, it will just be soaked up, youd hav to paint it. get the whole car undercoated, they do everything, well worth it
