Starting problem

alright so about 2-3 weeks ago i drove my car to Champs to get some food..i was in there for about 30 minutes and then i went out to my car and went to start it and nothing..when i turned the key it did not even try to start...it didnt do anything at all...if i left the key in the on position though...i had stereo and lights and everything

so i call my dad and he comes and puts some jumper cables on the car and it starts right up so i think ,, ok its just my battery... so i replaced it with an optima redtop

so today i go to meet a guy from the org to buy a bumper from him and it started up just fine...i drove to the meeting place...bought it..put it in my car...talked for maybe 10 minutes...and then went to start my car and nothing again...same exact thing it was doing before....so im like WTF is going on

so i walk 20 feet over to a gas station and ask a guy pumping his gas if he will jump my car ( luckily he had jumper cables) and he drove over and put the cables on and it started right up)

i KNOW its not the battery ! ! ! ! i just replaced it.....the car runs fine once its jumped..it doesnt die on me...

whats the problem? alternator? cables? some wierd voodoo @!#$?

Could be the alt. But check your cables too.

Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.

Could be the starter. Starter may need more power to start when hot. I have seen it numerous times.

^^^^^

But also, before you spend any money, disconnect the battery first and then check the connections on the starter solenoid are tight, then reconnect your battery.

Just to be sure it's not a loose connection down there, as jackalope says.
