Hey J's
My rear signal lights are driving me crazy, this is whats been happening:
Like 2 months ago, my I noticed my signal arrows in my car were blinking quickly, so I knew there was something wrong with my bulbs...I saw that my rear signal lights were not blinking at all....So I decided to buy new bulbs, which I did....and they started working again...no problem there...But, a few days later, the same problem occured...I noticed that if moved them a little bit, they would blink again, but not for long...then I noticed that the bulbs black tip (harness) was getting melted...so now I dont know what to do...I bought some dielectric grease, but they didnt do anything...I checked the Fuses, and they all good...PLEASE HELP!!

I believe there was a recall on this from GM. Maybe try running a search for taillight recall or rear lamp recall.

True, there was a recall, but it was switch related on the steering column. I, to, had rear socket problems on my '96 'Fire. Tried to take apart the socket, nothing wrong, put it back together -- Grr! Still had problems, so I went to a salvage yard (GM didn't sell just the socket, only the WHOLE wiring harness $150+!!) and nibbed me a $10 socket off a wrecked 'Cavy. Replaced the bad one with the used one, and have had no problem.
i got an 01 2200, same thing happened to my car. All you need to do is buy a new socket for the lightbulb. Just go to the dealer and get a new socket, thats what i did problem sloved. They should have the socket....only cost me like 6 bucks with tax....Just shop around cuz some dealers try to rip you off. Some other dealer quoted me at 40 bucks for that socket.....i went somewhere else and go it for 6
