Just a quick question... lately I have noticed that after I have shut-off my car, my exhuast will either pop or ping within about 5-10 min of shut off. Is this just natural heat compression changes within the exhuast due to cooling off or is there something else going on? It hasn't caused any problems, but if it is serious I'd like to catch the problem early. Thanks!

My g/f's 97 Sunfire SE coupe had a weird "pop" after shutting the car off for a few minutes. Sorta like a "boomp" sound. The noise was from the muffler. Replaced the muffler, it was gone.

it's normal, don't worry about it.
You would not beleive how loud mine is , people are always like your car is broken and what not.
I havea custom bent 2 1/2'' cat back with a magnaflow muffler with a cherry bomb glasspack.
Hopefully when i install the header and high flow cat, it will stop.
