Everyone,
So I was reading through "General Motors J-Body FAQ List" since that is a great source of info and came across this:
2.8.4) Can I upgrade the fog lights on my 95+ Cavalier/Sunfire?
---------------------------------------------------------------
Yes. The stock fog lights are 37.5 Watt #881 bulbs. You can replace them
with #886 55 Watt bulbs.
So I head to AutoZone pick up the listed lights and head home, after trying diligently for 45 mins. to get it to fit I pull the actual foglight out and find that they
WILL NOT fix?!
I noticed when I bought them that they have a 90 degree angle on the housing and the originals are straight on but didn't think this would matter.
Am I doing something wrong?
Are there other #886's that go straight in because I really don't think it is possible the way the light housing bolts to the bumper. There isn't any room to turn the bulb in the rear of the housing ???
Someone who has done this, is it different for a 2000 Z24?
Thanks, Shane
I just did this on my 2000 z24 and i believe the stock bulbs are 880's and you can replace them with the 885's...
So the FAQs are wrong ....
Wow that just cost me about twenty bucks I can't get back!
Well I might go look at those and see if the design on the bulb differs.
Thanks .....
same happened to me....followed my brothers aftermarket fog light size and nothing.....
well the thing is the 95-99 fog lights bulbs have 90 degree angle, cuz they are #881 bulb 37.5W....now cavaliers 2000+ fog lights have a straight bulb like the #880 thats actually 27W....im pretty sure about this.....correct me if im wrong

.....thats why im selling a set of eurolite foglights #881 i bought by mistake.....$20 shipped brand new
