Brakes. Wrap your head around this!!!!!!!!!

Ok so the other day i hear a horrible shreak from the
right front of my car. I'm like ok no biggie i'll replace the
brake pads. I get under there and find my caliper is sticking
so i figure that aint so bad either and i went and got a new one.
Now here's the fun part. I take off the old caliper and install the
new one. Now when i went to bleed the system i got very little
to no fluid from the drain valve. The caliper is fine. I took off the
rubber hose and ran air through it. Thats fine. I blew air up the
metal line to the abs block and well that worked fine. Then I
tried pumping the brake with the line from the abs to the caliper
disconnected and got a nice strong shot of fluid. So i believe
the master cylinder and abs is fine. So i reconnect the line. Now
i try pumping fluid to the end of the metal line near the caliper. That
gave me a decent amount of fluid. So i reconnect that to the caliper
and try bleeding it again. NOTHING. Just a drop or 2 of fluid and my
rotor is completely loose the brakes won't even compress lightly. So i
put everything back together as best as i can and now i have absolutly no
brakes whatsoever. As you can see i'm at the end of my rope so.........
CAN ANYONE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

maybe the hose seemed fine becaused you put compressed air throught it.....maybe that hose is somewhat collapsed.........take the other side off and try to compare the air flow

Thats an idea for tomorrow thanks any others?
Flow of fluid on the left side is hard stream able to
hit the mud flap so thats fine right side is weak dribble.

ABS solenoids set to 'home'? They normally click themselves to reset at each first pull-away from every startup. Check in a shop manual to see how to do it manually/ w/o Tech 2 tool/ w/o driving car.

well not that you pressurized the brake system with air , good luck getting the brakes to work

air and hydralics do not miz well

i hope you realize first on replacing the caliper , they do not have fluid in them , and when you put it on it take a while for them to fill back up

its best to gravity bleed it , keep the cap off the master cyl and let the fluid do the work , and keep a eye on the fluid in the master cyl , once a steady stream is leaking out the caliper , then you can tighten it and pdeal bleed the line to get rid of the extra air

best thing for now is to get a pressure bleeder and get the whole system bleed

cause you got alot of air in it now , next time ask before you DO

Listen I DO have a clue what i'm doing
i did not push air through the system
until i realized that i could not get pressure
to the new caliper. Almost no fluid was coming
out after a long time of attempting to bleed it.
So i thought possibly a line had collapsed
or been pinched. I then blew air through to make
sure the lines were free and clear.
I don't see why you have to make yourself feel big by
attempting to make someone else sound like an
idiot.
Also if you didn't have anything useful to add to this
thread why in the world would you post on it.

cause basicly you dont have a freakin clue what the hell your doing , or you never would have shot air up your brake lines , cause now , YOU MADE ALOT MORE WORK out of a simple job

did you even think to take the cap of the master cyl ??

also if you didnt lightly pinch the rubber line when you swaped the caliper out , its very possible you got a very large air bubble that wouldnt let the fluid push out , in which case you push the pedal down very slow to push it out , then tighten the bleeder to stop air from getting sucked back in tell the pedal is back up to its resting position

so you obviously dont know what the hell your doing

and since you brought up the idiot term , it does fit you very well

Of course i did all that.
I mean seriously there is no
need to come on here insulting people
who are looking for actual assistance.
This makes me think you simply enjoy
running your mouth. I would appreciate you
not posting on my thread and harrassing me
with this pointless babble.
Good Luck to you and your endeavors
