Broken muffler?

Hey all.... got a question

One of the small tube chambers in my muffler has broken and is loose in my muffler?

Should I be concerned about this? Besides the annoying rattle that the muffler has, what problems could arise?

I would not be too concerned,as long as the flow of exhaust is normal out of the tail pipe,it should b fine.If it blocks the flow it can cause unecessary backpressure and maybe cause the car to choke a little or try to cut off.But as long as u feel the exh flow being normal I would not consider it a problem other than the noise.

Thanks...

Is it possible that this could cause my engine to overheat?

Absolutey not, engine temps problems are normally a bad thermostat,no working fan, water pump dyeing, even a slow leak that's causing air to get into the system and cause air pockets.Typically its a thermostat sticking half closed or closed all the way or the fan not cycling on or not working for overheating issues.
