not jbody but brake light problem
Thursday, July 14, 2005 9:36 PM
My mother has a 95 monte carlo and her brake lights dont work. the bulbs are fine..they are single bulb in each lens with a dual element in each bulb. the tail lights work when the lights are put on but when you press the brake.. nothing happens. all fuses in the entire car are good and I replaces the stop light switch that goes to the brake lever. still nothing. how can I track this problem down. she wont drive the car until its fixed.
any help is appresiated
thanks

i did replace it...didnt do anything...
tail light part of the bulbs work fine the brake light filament isnt lighting up. blinkers work..but only left side emergency light works...remember there is only one bulb in each lamp assembly

Sounds like your in for some fun wire tracing to see where the power to those lights is being lost... probably something simple like a bad ground somewhere... but wiring/electrical problems can be a nightmare to trace

Best of luck
