i am almost at 100 000km on my 4-door, 2002 Z24.
i think i have powertrain coverage until 100 000km. does anyone know about this for sure?
if i do have coverage (i didn't get any extended coverage) would it cost me nothing to find out why my engine light is always on? my parking brake light is starting to stay on as well. how about a strange sound when i make left turns (almost like a rubbing sound)?
thanks all!
yes you have powertrain coverage until 100k km in Canada. I know that because mines still covered under the GM warranty and I bought an extended warranty from the private dealership that I bought it at for $799 covering me until 120k or until Jan 2007. Unless you go to the states (autozone) or know someone with a scanner checking the light is gonna cost you some money. I know that the parking light also means that brake fluid is low or perhaps your sensor is screwed.
so it would cost me money to check the light, but fixing it would be covered?
i'm just not sure what's covered under a powertrain warranty.
thanks.
you might have coverage up to 100,000kms but you might have past the X amount of years that the 100,000kms are good for... check w/ ur dealer...

i am pretty sure that i am under in yrs, got it in Feb '02, but i'll check, thx.
northern lights eh? lucky u!
the powertrain is under warranty for 5 years or 100 000km.
The check engine is not in oil so it's not under warranty.
