well, i was driving for work today, and i noticed that my battery light came on. i was just wondering if anyone could help me with some ideas as to what it could be. my guess is maybe my alternator is going. ive had the car for almost 3 years, and that is the one thing ive never replaced yet.

thank you in advance for your help

Either your battery is bad, or your alternator is. Bring the battery to your local autozone and they can test it.

Try connecting the alternator to the battery using a straight 4ga. wire or larger. if that doesnt make the light go away you need a new alt and about 15 mins of your time.

^ Alternator on a 2.4L takes a lot more than 15 minutes to replace.

It happened to my friends 97 2.4... it turned out to be a loose battery ground connection.
