having tourqe probs and lost power
Tuesday, July 05, 2005 6:46 AM
Hey,
for over 6 months i have noticed my car is slower, less tourque and just lost power. ive been changing the oil pretty much on time.

my exhaust has a bend in it kinda, and i got an aftermarket muffler, i noticed i got water spitting from the muffler sometimes.

I havent really dont much maintnance work cause not sure what to do.. about 5 months ago i went for a check up cause warranty was almost done and replaced the fuel filter.. the guy recommended a decarbonation of the engine also. ( how do i do that)

any other suggestions what i could do to keep up with the ware and tear? any tips or what should i do.

for maintaianence... the book that comes with the car in the glove compartment has pretty much what you need to do.

http://www.advanceautoparts.com/english/youcan/categories.asp#Maintain%20and%20Save!

either link shows what to do to maintain stuff.

condensation will build up in a muffler, most have weeping holes to let it weep out. those that dont can sometimes be subject to rusting from the inside out.

decarbonization, in a nutshell is like a colon cleanse for your engine. they have stuff to put in the fuel lines/gas tank or spray in the TB.

get new plugs, and wires... if you dont have wires, jsut get plugs..

If still having issues I would have a tech plug in a diagnostic tool.

check your engine for any leaks take it to pep boys or something and they will use some pressurized air to check your compression an to see if you hav any leaks.
