I've got a '96 sunfire with a 2.2 OHV that won't run. When it did, it would have an extremely rough idle, and drove with minimal pick up. It seems to have a heat soak problem because it always breaks down once it heats up. My problem is the battery dies and all the error codes cleared, so I can't use a scan tool. I'm thinking replacing the starter motor/solenoid, and battery, even though the battery has been pretty reliable, it might have dead cells. Either way if anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate the help.

need more info please??

The starter/solenoid has nothing to do with the car once its running, so cross that out if it dies once it warms up.

Got a volt meter?
