This is for a '01 2.4L Cavi z24
Recently, I put the h/o intake manifold on my girlfriends car. It ran great for about a week until I went to make the switch from her stock 2.4l throttle body to the 2.3l one. After that point, I had nothing but trouble with it even when trying to put the 2.4l throttle body back on. At this point, I grew tired of screwing with it and put the whole stock intake manifold with the stock 2.4l throttle body back on. Car runs fine once again, no CEL's.
However, my friend came over and AutoTapped her car. It turns out at idle in neutral (5-speed) it claims that the IAC is saying 0. He also noticed that the timing advance is jumping all over at ldle too. Is this normal? The car runs and drives perfectly fine and has so for over a week now. Any ideas?
Thanks.
idles are usually spuratic. could be from a number of reasons but nothing to worry about.
dirty fuel injectors, filter, etc...
leaky oil in the combustion chamber (low amounts i am referring to) from valve seals, ring leaks etc.
in the end its nothing to stress about as long as the car is running fine and idles.
