ok, so the other night i go to drop someone off, and i notice my interior lights dont kick on with the headlights. (gauge cluster, HVAC...etc) it did work 2 nights ago, and now has apparently quit for good. i checked the fuse, and it is good. could it be the switch in the stalk? im not sure where to start, or how to test it. any wiring diagrams available so i can whip out the multimeter?
i do have a one bulb hooked into the gauge cluster for guage pod lighting, and also 3 LED's...but they consume VERY low current, and if anything they would blow a fuse...so id dismiss that idea. (I rigged em that way so they only came on when i turned on the rest of the lights...lights on during the day is dumb)
thanks to all for the time saving...just trying to figure this shizzle out would take me all frickin night.

On the left hand side, next to the steering wheel, there is a rolling knob thingy w. a light bulb next to it. Turn it to the up position. This knob controls the brightness of the gauge cluster and HVAC lights. If you turn it all the way up, it catches and the interior lights on the top and sides of the car come on and stay on and you don't want that. Try that, if not you might have a bad ground or a bad wire, so trace them back.

thanks, but i do know a lil bit about electronics, i wouldnt make a mistake that dumb. i know what the dimmer switch is. i checked that first...thinking it was something dumb, cuz it usually is. all the way up, the dome light works, but still nothing else.

When you installed you guage pod lights, Did you tap into the power wire in the A pillar?
Other then that i dont know, My sunfire interior lights never turn on with the headlights. They only turn on when the door opens, or i flip the dimmer switch up.
“Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that’s even remotely true."
check the power going into and coming out of the dimmer switch
either the dimmer is bad , or the power isnt getting to them , or from it to the dash lights
im gonna check out the dimmer tonight, thanks guys.
