Is the PCM for a 2.4L engine (say, a 2000 2.4L) the same in a J-car as it is in, say, a N-car? (with the same motor, of course)

I'm assuming it would be the same part... since the PCM really only controls the engine... and then the body control module and all the other electronic goodies would be different since it's a different car... or is the PCM completely different after all??? Or just a different program, but the same part?
