front wheel bearings?

do wheel bearings have gastets of any sort i just change both in october and then today of june 04 because of a lot of wear? new machanic said old ones fails so quick because rear water seal gasket for axel housing and hub seal gasket missing. is there truth to this

2 things, if the rear seals aren't there, yah, they would probably be ruined in a year. Secondly, $600???? i paid 100 canadian at napa for mine each and installed them myself in 30 mins, get a new mechanic

i called chevy dealer they wanted 270 for each bearing i paid 190 with 1 year warranty also 50 bucks an hour for labour 3 hours i don't have tools and patiences so 190 plus 190 plus 150 plus tax 615.00

Factory bearings do not come with a front and rear seal. They should still last a few years though. Some aftermarket bearings do come with a seal. I think my Timken's are about $75 at autozone and they did come with front and rear seals.

just picked up a Timken bearing/hub assembly last night from autozone. It was 60 bucks.
