ok.. I drive to a friend's to hang out and everything's great.... but then I leave his place and go to drive home and the clutch in my car is non-existant! seriously the shifter just flops around loose and I had to drive home in 2nd gear or whatever... I could not shift, there was not even a 1-2-3-4-5 slot to put the shifter into... forget about reverse, there is nothing but a low gear forward... what the hell is wrong with the car? I just parked it at this apartment then when I was leaving I have no gears... not fun driving home after drinking and having no gears (driving 10-20mph) especially with all the drunks on the road... I have had clutches go before but never like this... they had worn out on me gradually but now it feels like I have NOTHING as far as gears (the shifter doesnt work). please help!
The gates for shifting are inside the tranny. Linkage might be broken internally.
