ok after letting the car sit for a few weeks over winter i started it and pulled it into the garage. when doing so i noticed a slight ticking noise coming from the engine bay. so i popped the hood and located the tick was coming from somewhere up high on the engine. sounded like it was coming from the lifter area. so over this spring i had the lifters replaced on the intake side. no such luck, still ticks. then replaced the exhaust side.. still no luck. its a strange tick to. definantly not an exhaust leak. NO tick at idle, rev the engine to about 2,000 RPM and hold it... tick is created. driving the car, the tick is not appearent on acceleration BUT of course if i set the cruise and go a single speed the tick comes back. i havnt got any clue what could be making the ticking noise. im hoping someone on here has mabye had a similar problem and could suggest what to do next.
also my clutch has began to make a chatter when engaging it.. sounds like a bad throwout bearing. any way the throwout could be the entire problem?
we are gonna do a compression check next week sometime, to possibly rule out bad valves... yet the car runs and drives fine like always...
im at a loss right now and i know its hard to determine an engines problem over the internet but ANY help or suggestion is appreciated...

lifter was the first thing that came to my mind........it also could be the clutch. to tell if its the throwout bearing, push in the clutch, if it stops ticking that could be the prob. other wise no idea?
maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow....... but some day
come to think of it.. i dont think ive tryed to rev the car up with the clutch pushed in.. just the shifter in neutral.. il try that tommorow. thanks

timing chain and tensioner both came off when doing lifters, they are both in perfect working order. its coming more from the other side of the engine bay also...
its so damn hard to determine where exactly. i might run it to a couple local shops just to see what they say.
