HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! Shaking And Ticking
Thursday, June 02, 2005 8:14 PM
hey everyone my car has just started shaking when accelerating. I was wondering it has done this slightly since the car has been lowered. It is only at low accelration then if i put it down to about half throttle the shaking stops. Its not violent by no means its actually quite subtle But i was wondring if this is normal activity on a lowered car with heavy 18 inch wheels,

Also i hear a slight ticking sound coming from the front passenger side i can only hear it going through tunnels and stuff but it is noticable. It makes the noise accoring to how fast i am going. If i am going really fast the it ticks fast. Vise versa for slow speeds. I have checked the tire for rocks also.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also the Axel on the drivers side has already been replaced due to a broken motor mount.

Front wheel drive shudders are usually caused by failing CV joints and a clicking noise is usally an even better sign. I got them after i lowered my car with dropzone springs on OEM struts like a month later. I have replaced both front wheel bearings new tires and balance 2 times over again. I have had 4 different places( Monro muffler and brake, Firestone, Dealership, Advanced Auto, and a good friend) say that is probably my Half shafts or CV shafts somewhere. In your sig there i can see it looks like your car is slammed. I think back to what event said, the lower you go the more stress is put on them and out of alignment they get. So slamming your car will only lead to problems down the road.
