I have searched but couldn't find anything about this. In the owners manual for my 2001 Cavalier GM says that the plugs do not need to be changed until 100k miles or 160k km, do they last this long? My car has around 55k miles right now. What should i do?
check em... thats how long they are rated to last if you drove like you are driving ms daisy....
if you run hard, run traffic, stop and go, things have their life shortened.
sure it might last 100,000 miles, but it prob wont be the most effiicient by then.... but part of maintainence is checking the plugs. can def tell you how your engine is running
if your even considering it then do it, plugs are very inexpensive and easy to change
The 4 plugs cost 46$ just for the plugs, at Walmart those are the stock delco ones, normal delcos cost 14$ for all 4.

46$ for that amount you should have gotten iridium plugs....
ac delco platinums should be around 5.99 at any auto parts store leaving you with a biil of around 25$
I rotate mine and they last longer.
I checked at Walmart (only place to have them outside of the dealership) they are 19$ for 2 plus 15% tax. They say on them that they will last 100k miles.
I go to Anoka Tech which is sponsored/affiliated with AC Delco... I got mine for free
But nevertheless, they shouldn't be too much.

well you are in canada... not sure if you are speakin on usd funds....
no local auto places have em?
yes i'm talking in CDN dollars, in Canada we have no good auto parts stores, there is no autozone or Advance auto. All we got is Crappy Tire, GM dealers (high prices), Napa, and other private stores. Walmart sells things like accesories, fitlers, oils, tires, batterys. fluids, thats it. Its sad really...

ok well thats better. 40$ cdn, is like 31.82 usd... so with your 15% tax prob for import i am guessing, if you took off the 15% it would be 27.04 usd
not bad
i just picked up autolite double platinums for under 20 bucks, i figured 50k would be a good time to do it, im at 42k right now with my 02' 2200. never a bad thing to OVER maintain your car...

Yes, every 20 k swap 1&4 and 2&3, with DIS ignition one fires positive and the other negative, to even out wear I swap. I figured this out for myself after observing plug wear on Delco Platinum.

i can honestly say i have NEVER had that issue and i run and msd on top of that...
the 15% tax is not for imports its a sales tax, the price is added on top of the listed prices, $99.99 +taxes = $~115.00
7% goes to the federal gov't (all over Canada)
8% goes to the provincial gov't (In Ontario)
