OK it's 10:30 pm and I need some help. I just redid my brakes. The front ones are no problem, it's the drums I'm having some trouble. I put all the springs back where they needed to go and as far as I can see everything is how it should be. The thing is with the new shoes the new drum will not slide over them. I have already turned the screw type thing on the bottom to as small as it goes. Is there another adjustment I can do to bring the pads in or do I have to shave some of the new pad down? A quick respones would be great thanks.
First off you cant "shave" anything down, the shoes meat the drums when the pedal is hit, if the shoes arent smooth enough, or the drum is more than .003 out of round your steering wheel will shake and the pedal will viberate.
Secondly are you sure you have the right drums, I had this problem before to, the bonehead parts guy gave me the wrong drums.
Are the drums the same size as your old ones.

Make sure the top of the shoes are against the anchor pin.
