Have a passenger power window not functioning in a friends 2000 sunfire.
Here's the breakdown:
Neither driver or passenger side door switch will work the passenger door window.
Driver side window works
Motor in passenger door taken out and checked. It is fine
The lead that plugs into the power window motor was checked with a voltmeter.
When the switch was turned one way, +13 volts registered, when turned the other way, -13 volts was registered.
Any advice on what I should do next??
Walt
How did you check the motor???

I had a shop check it out.
After I got it home I put leads from a car battery on it.
The motor went down, and when I reversed the leads the motor went up.
Therefore the motor works, but when I reinstalled it a nd plugged it in, it still didn't work.

Hi Walt
So you have a shop checked power window motor, functionally tested and +/- 13volts at the motor connections.
Can you rig it so the leads and battery test circuit operates the motor when it is connected to the window.
I think you have a bad/corroded/something not right connection in the car circuit.
You have +/- 13 volts at the terminals but you really need to test the circuit under load ie with the motor drawing AMPERES.
If the window works with the battery test circuit connected you will have confirmed that there is a bad connection somewhere.
Let us know how it goes
Good Luck
