I HAVE A 97 Z24 THE LIGHTS COME ON WHEN I PUSH THE BUTTONS FOR A/C OR THE FOR THE REAR DEFROSTER BUT NOTHING HAPPENS. HAS ANYONE HEAR OF THE PROBLEM BEFORE?
Hi MG
I'll have a guess.
But my book only goes up to '94 so things may have changed.
Assuming you have checked the 25amp A/C fuse and the 10amp gauges fuse (supplies the A/C compressor control relay).
The A/C light can be on with the compressor clutch disconnected at the compressor plug/socket located right at the compressor, or, if there is a break in the circuit.
Also you may just need the system checked and refilled
The rear defroster light may be ON but the relay in the switch unit may be faulty, preventing the supply to the defroster..The relay in a '93 is behind the rear defroster switch in the center panel. This assumes that the wiring to the rear defroster element is OK and the element itself is serviceable.
Hope this helps
