Antenna issue...

does anyone else have an issue with 04 Cavaliers antennas. It seems that mines wiggles it self lose, and then it rattles, you can tighten it back up by hand but will be loose a few days later.

I'm thinking if I go to the dealer it will be worse than when it first went in, even though it is under warranty.

any suggestions

If I recall, the antenna should have a hex base that either a 7mm or 8mm wrench should fit on. Just snug it down a bit with the wrench, save the trip to the dealer.

If you don't have a metric wrench set, a pair of pliers and something to wrap the base of the antenna with (masking tape should work) as to not scratch the heck out of it should do the trick as well.

If you really don't want it to go anywhere, run on down to the hardware store and get some Loc-Tite.

^^^^ same here. I've noticed that on many cars like sunfire, grand am/ prix, cavaliers and probably a ton of other GM cars that these antennas just dont wanna stay on until you use some pliers...

I agree I have seen many of these antennas work loose. A drop of threadlocker and a good tightening will keep them from loosening from vibration.
