At first I thought it was the battery, since I just got back from vacation. But my brother drove my car over from the guest parking lot fine last night.
This morning I tried to jump the car, but it still won't start. The battery appears fine as for radio and lights work. When I turn the key I hear a sputtering noise, as if it is trying to spark but it won't catch. The light that shows the engine and a "CHECK" underneath is on, and it stays on solid until I turn the key then it sputters. The manual sais that has something to do with emissions control but that doesn't make sense.
Anyways, I have no idea what to do. I called roadside assistance but its Sunday and I start classes tommorow, so I need to get back. All they offer is for my car to get towed to a dealership which doesnt help at this point.
Please, any help would be greatly appreciated. But I know very little about engines and what not.
I have a 2002 LS Cavalier with less than 17000 miles if that helps. <br>

see if its getting fuel in other words see if the fuel pump is coming on when u turn the key on as far as all the dash lights they will stay on untill the car starts then they all go off

mine did the same think and it was because of the power terminal their wasn't enough wires that weren't corroded so i cut it off and respliced it back on and hooked it back to the battery and it started up like a charm. Check you power and ground connections on the battery
Fast isn't always good, looks and sound is sometimes better
