k i have the 2200 motor in my sunfire. i have a air intake also on it. on thursday i filled my tank and then but the end of the night it was below half a tank. i went 17 miles that day after i filled it and it was highway driveing to. so i put more gas in it on friday and filled it and went about 30 miles after i filled. it today i went a little over 54 miles and it was highway mostly and now im on E again is that normal for that car? i do about 75 mph on the highway some areas 55 mph so its not like im driveing it hard.
idk it could be i look at it sometimes and ill be driveing and stop and be siting for a little and ill see it go back up then go back down. something is not right i spent $60 on gas in 3 days. wut shoud l i be geting for gas miles in this car anyways i bought it used so i never saw the window sticker. my friends are like its your intake it cant be that bc u dont drive it hard so u hear the intake the only time ill get on it is going on the highways then ill back off.
did this happen after you put on the intake/?if so it's the sensor that plugs in the tube..IAT i think it's called..those guys brake easily,,or you didnt put it on
it was never really good on gas sence i bought it but after i put the intake on it started geting bad slowly. i do have the sencer pluged into the intake . im going to look at everything on it today to see why its eating gas.
That less then a mile a gallon. If your car was dumping that much fuel throught injectors there is no way it would run, it may even hydrolock. You must be lossing fuel externaly somewhere.

After you park somewhere just lay on the ground lol and look for dripping.. or if you smell that strong gas odor. It has to be leaking externally.
i filled the tank again on sunday moreing. i put $25 and it was a difforent gas from the other stuff i had in it before, right now it has getty in it. so i wrote down how many gallons i put in how much the gas was a gallon and how much then cleared my trip. today it got to a little below half a tank and it was at 180.8 miles and almost on E so idk wuts wrong
thats not too bad, but still i think something is wrong, mabey plugs are messed up or dirty air filter, check the dumb stuff

acctually, thats terrible, i have the LD9 (2.4) and i can get about 320 miles to a tank, and i have more mods too. like everyone's saying i would check for any sort of fuel leak, especially at the fuel pressure regulator, i have replaced it twice on mine.

So after 180 miles you were just a little below half or at E?
when i hit 180 it was just off the half tank line. then i let it go till it was on the red line but not to the point my light came on. i checked it again and i got 261 out of that tank of gas.
i filled it on sunday gas at the station was 2.31 getty gas 11 gallons of gas $25.25 filled it and that was on sunday and today is wed and its all out. my dad said thats about right and i told him no its not and also my rotten egg smell is geting bad.
Well, by the numbers you have provided, it is about 24mpg which isn't ungodly horrible, but definately not quite where it should be. I get 26mpg out of my 2.4 when I run it hard and 29-32mpg when I am nice to it.
You didn't mention anything about a rotten egg smell before. That right there is a sign that your engine is running extremely rich. The two things to check are the IAT sensor on the intake as well as the O2 sensors. Either of those can cause issues with running rich.

k well how do u check the 02 sencers the intake 1 i can get. lol this im going to have to pay to fix my warrenty is over now. how much will it be if i need 02 sencers i hear there like $100
the rotten egg smell is the cat.. replace it... and i have money that says your just gasing it harder than you used too... (intake-idus)
i drive it the same was as i did without the intake, yea you can hear it if you get on the gas but i dont because im sick of going to the gastation everyday so i drive it the why it sould be

^^^^^ what he said, and also i don't know for sure for your engine, but for mine the O2 sensor in the exhaust manifold is around $20, but yes the one after the catalytic converter is around $100, but those are the prices in mn, might be more expensive where ever you live, also, not quite sure what you said up there but there is no o2 sensor in your intake, just in the manifold and after the cat, but it also sounds like your car is running rich.

i posted this a long time ago and in the time i have filled the car up 3 times clearned the trip and this is the numbers i got 260 first tank 270 sec tank and you all ready for this 180 this tank and i did nothing difforent driveing wise then with all the other tryes. so monday im geting it looked at by the shop
