I do most of my own work on my cars so I got a few questions here, no concern right now but for future reference.
Do 2.2s had a timing belt or chain?
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being hardest, how hard is it to remove the oil filter, I know my old car was a pain in the ass had to go around some suspenion parts to remove it.
thanks

ur body style is 3rd gen. oil filter is simple to get to..look to the right and down on ur intake...see a black cap thing? thats how you get to ur oil filter i would say 1 or 2 it all depends it if wants to come right off for u. and the ecotec runs off a timing chain
MY 2003 SUNFIRE
04 is 3rd gen, 3rd phase.
My oil filter was a pain in the ass to change. I couldnt get to it from the top, I had to have it up on the hoist and come in from the wheel well to get to the thing. I have a 3rd gen cavi, so my oil filters probly in the same spot yours is. I dunno if Ohh3SunFire up there would be in the same spot.

I know what you're talking about, and yes, that filter is a pain in the ass to get to, but only if you have power door locks. My mom's Cavy (99) doesn't, and I can just reach straight down behind the power steering pump and unscrew the filter. On my friend's Cavy (2002), the power door lock module is behind the PS pump, RIGHT in the way of where you could reach down.. so you have no choice but to get really far under the car and/or go in through the CV axel. Sucks major.
