I was changing my brake hose on the passenger side front brakes and when tightening the hose I rounded (stripped) the bolt, just wondering what ideas you guys would have to fix a problem like this or if I'd need to change the entire stainless steel line all the way to the master cylinder. Thanks

if you stripped the head, just use some visegrips next time you need to do any maintainance. If you strip the threads, then yeah you better replace it.

Yeah, just use some vice grips next time. If you do replace it, invest in some line wrenches so you avoid this problem down the road. They look like box ends but have a small section cut out (thus giving you more points for leverage than a standard open end).

put grease on the fitting so next time u use it, it will be easier!

i have a similar related question...what do you do when the bleeder screw won't crack loose and you've started rounding it off already..i dont wanna force it and break it off inside the caliper, but i dont wanna smash my knuckles either..

You are using the box end of the wrench right? Try a spraying some WD-40 on the screw.

Even try giving it a nice sharp tap with a hammer on the wrench end. I usually have to do this when i change my brakes no matter how much grease i lube the sliders with.
