Stalling when coasting to a stop

I'm looking for a little help; I tried searching but couldn't find anything.
The car is a 91 Z24 with a 3.1 3speed auto.
When the car is in gear and I'm coasting to a stop or light the Rpm's jump around and the car wants to stalls, once stopped the Rpm's settle back to normal after a few seconds. The car was running fine, I replaced the starter last weekend and this problem seemed to happen after that.

Any help in what could be the cause would be appreciated.

Maybe your throttle positioning sensor, maybe clean the throttle body
Does it stutter on acceleration?
Does it start ok?
Is your fuel pump good?
Is the fuel filter clean?

Answering those questions will make it easier for the mechanics in the house to diagnos your problem, and i am sure they will have more. later

Since u have a automatic it's more than likely the torque convertor switch mounted on the transmission. What happens is over time the trans fluid wears out and in turn causes the fluid and trans to run hotter than normal and it will burn up the TCC switch which it is technically called. What u can do is disconnect the wiring plug going to it and it should go away.I recomm replacing the part and change ur trans fluid to prevent burning up another switch.I do not know the specific location on ur model yr but, this is a classic symptom of the car stalling while coming to a stop.I feel VERY confident this is ur issue.
