I need some help here. I'm in the process of switching out the engine and transmission in my 98 Z24 cav. I can't get the engine and trans to align right so i can attach the lower dogbone mount. What am I doing wrong that would cause this. The all data instructions say i need a special tool to adjust the tranny mount but what would that be used for? PLEASE someone help me, I need this car done by thursday afternoon. Thanks for any help!
Chris
No special tool needed. Did you take all 3 mounts off at the same time? If so thats the problem. Your suppose to do 1 at a time. The Lower mount is a VERY simple one to do. The front tranny mount is also simple to remove. The rear tranny mount will be a little harder to pull out but it will come out and you can swap it out..
What do you mean you cant align them togeather?
Can you talk to me on AIM or MSN? Goat6919@hotmail.com or Goat6919 on AIM
I have both the tranny mount and the upper engine mount attached, but i Can't for the life of me get the lower dogbone attached. Should I undo the upper engine mount and try maneuvering the engine and trans to hook up the lower mount or what? What order to I hook them up in?
you have to get someone to help you
you need to either twist the motorfowards or backwards depending which way the the bolt hole is off
they will need a pry bar
yeah, its dam near impossible to do them without a pry bar
