First off, I have a 2003 Chevy Cavalier LSS with a 4t40e.
For a week or two recently I was having a 'surging' issue when I have my throttle open no more than 25% and the trans is in 3rd or 4th gear at around 40-50 mph. While the surging happens, no lights are turning on. The Monday before my recent AC class, as I was coming back from an interview in Round Lake Beach as I was making a sharp 135 degree turn, it felt like I had run over a pothole or had a weird hard shift, after that happened my 'Trac Off' light cam on. But after a few miles, as I came to a stop, the light went back off. Durning my recent class on Thursday, after I helped finish fixing a H2 and after returning from lunch, I was able to pull my car in and check for codes. I had a P0113, and a C1275. I figured from Monday I'd have the C1275, but was expecting a misfire code due to experience from my last J. That day I went to Napa in Woodstock and picked up a new Delphi IAT, put it in in the parking lot and left. Things seemed to have been solved till about half way home and the trans starts up shifting hard into gear. After I got home I shifted from D to N then to R, and could feel it shift a bit hard into R. I left after about an hour to my next class and the trans still was upshifting hard. Now the harshness was less and less slightly into each sucessive gear. As I drove home, same thing and it also threw up the CEL. I check for codes with my basic code scanner, and I get P0113 again. WTF?!? I erased the code and went inside. Now I didn't drive my car all day Friday and most of the day Saturday till early evening. Trans seemed to shift fine to where I was going, it sat for two and a half to three hours, started driving home, and it seemed to shift fine till I just get home. Great.... and today it wasn't happy and shifted hard and the CEL came on for P0113 again. So I swapped back in the original IAT.
Any help would be great.

Okay, here's some recent info I have found. As I'm rolling, I go and erase the code and my trans shifts fine. But, once I come to a stop, the code comes back as pending and the TRAC OFF light comes back on and my trans starts shifting hard. On my trip home from work I disconnected the sensor and erased the code. It was good for a while and while at one red light, it happened again. I have a feeling there is either something in the harness or ECM.
Now a little info on my setup. All I have installed at the moment on my motor is a Spectre cone filter on the end of the stock intake(Was installed back in April 2013) and a set of E3 plugs(installed back in Jan 2010).

i had the same issue with my IAT ... it was a frayed wire further down the line on the IAT wire. btw this was on my 03 auto cav. this caused the car to jerk into gear./
Okay, I was gonna pin out at the PCM to see if the signal side was getting more than 5V to be sure. That is also the reason I disconnected the IAT on my way home from work, let alone giving my manager a ride home too.

Also, was there another wire that was frayed at the same point as the IAT wire, like a trans control wire or something?

dealer did the fix for me... i say just follow the wire as far back as you can.
Okay, I'll try as soon as I have the time for it.
