The other day my abs felt like they went out i basically have to push my brake pedal to the floor and it always wants to lock up. The Brake light came on and my abs lit up.
So i got home and opened hood and found that my brake fluid had ran dry. So i put a can of dot3 in it and jumped back in. The brake light went off and so did abs so i thought it was fixed, until.i went to brake again and same thing as before pedal was almost to the flor and locks up.
So i got pissed and pumped the brake pedal trying to get it to retain pressure. and brake light lit back up. any ideas on what i need to do to fix this thing?
Sounds like you have a massive fluid leak somewhere. Look around the master cylinder and the lines while you have someone press the pedal. If you can't see anything, you'll have to pull all 4 wheels and check the calipers/wheel cylinders(under the drums). Sounds like the issue is up front though if you're losing it that fast. When you filled it back up did you bleed the lines?

Fill up the brake fluid, then get in and pump the brake pedal. Look for the puddle on the ground. Fix broken hose.

Hmm...this sounds familiar. Guess I'll do the same...once we get warmer than the mid-low teens. Do you mean you had a "low fluid" light or the "BRAKE" light?
