I'd really appreciate some help with this. It's becoming more than a nuisance. I have an intermittent starting problem on a 1998 Cavalier. IIRC, thelftlock should cause it to start and then die but it doesn't even crank. The theftlock light is on solid when not starting, but not blinking. Removing the battery ground fixes this for a start or three. Which part of the system has failed? :/

Apparently it's called PassLock (pcm), not TheftLock (stereo).

Somebody? Anybody? I know someone must know how to fix this....

My old 98 cavalier kept not starting or would stall at lights. Took it to the dealer they ran the system and cleared some code. Didn't even charge me and the car never did it again.
