Hi everyone.
To make a long story short, I broke my key in my cylinder, destroyed the cylinder trying to get it out. This is in a 98 Cavalier. For about the last year, I've been using a screwdriver to start the car and it's driving me nuts and I'd rather just put a switch on the dash (A on/off for power and a momentary for start).
Does anyone have a wiring diagram as to what color wire does what?
Thanks!
Just pay the 100 bux and get a new one..
Im surprised your car isnt having security issues if you have been using a screwdriver. Just get a used lock and key if nothing else
Have a nice day.

I used a cylinder from a different cavalier to reprogram my computer, then installed a resistor in the pass lock wires. I'm not having any security issues any more. And yeah I could buy a $100 lock for it, but then the lock might be worth more than the car itself! Jk, but I really don't have $100.
Thanks.
Well if you would like you can search the forums (not sure what part) there is a haynes manual pdf download file. It will have all service info including your wiring diagrams to figure out your ignition wires. It is a very nice thing to have handy. Someone took the time to scan every single page and upload it, you might as well put it to use. Ill look for the link as well... i havent used it in quite a while
Have a nice day.
