ok so heres the low down. i started the car last week ran fine. tried to start it today no go, had a @!#$ty battery so went got brand new one. still nothing. all interior lights work gauges work hear fuel pump come on. the 2 lights i see on the gauges are oil and battery. and when i try and start the car the headlights go out and the gauges drop to zero nothing else happens its like i have a dead battery. i assume its a ground, i just dont know what could have happened between last week and this week. any assistance would help. i already look at bettery ground and plan to look at starter grounds tm in the day light. any others i should check?

Use a multimeter to check your voltage key off at battery.Should be at least 12.8 or higher for a good battery. Also could be your alternator is not charging or done. You should check your volts at the alternator to key off should read the same as battery. If your grounds are solid,I would pull alter off get it bench tested at advance auto or auto zone for free so they can load test it for proper operation being the car won't run you can't drive there for them to check it with it in place and do a load test.Def sounds like a bad ground,or connection,or alternator going bad.Alternators die anytime they feel like it does not matter. If I left something off may others add/correct me if necessary.
