I have a 01 sunfire that is starting to die on the fiances car, and a 98 with a bad tranny, other then EGR and the injector differences, what would all be needed to put the 98 engine into the 01? instead of egr block off plate, couldnt I use the exhaust mani and gasket off the 01 like you could with the LD9? the 98 engine was strong and only 140,xxx km on it and the 01 has 278,xxx km so I am under impression swapping clutches, injectors and dealing with EGR is all there is to it, or is there more? any help from you LN2 guys would be great.

those motors should be the same... maye egr was done differently, but 98-02 they should be close to 100% same thing, injectors too, clutch same, exhaust manifold same

95-97 is different from 98-02, so you're still in the same range...pretty sure you wont have too many problems
