I topped off the oil in my car a week ago and made sure it was perfect up to the line. I took a look at it today and it was at almost at the add one quart mark. I don't know where its going. I'm not sure if this has something to do with it but last week I saw the timing chain cover bolts were loose so I tightened the top ones up. I just finished loosening them a bit so hopefully that's it. Any other ideas? h
Not sure what to suggest.I would degrease the engine with some foamy engine cleaner and let it dry.I would just place some cardboard under your car overnite after the fact.Make sure you drive it some,so it is dry before the car is parked for the nite. Then check the next day for drips onto the catch all.Unless the engine is using oil horendously I bet u have a leak.Unless someone else has a pointer area to check for common leaks Idk.Hope this helps.
it's a 2.4L, im not sure where it's leaking from, last time I had a leak from the pressure sensor but it was leaking alot. I'm not sure where it's leaking maybe ill pay someone to check with dye and light.
pressure wash the engine(hose it down clean) everything, sensors these days are all sealed up and everything should be safe with water besides exposed filter, maybe a bag over it.
let it idle and get a flash light and check for leaks...
the main thing to do it clean it up, you never know where the leak if coming from if dirt and oil is everywhere
also leaked a ton of oil from the pressure sensor before
