Had this problem with my girlfriends car. Is yours leaking at all? If it isn't leaking and just disappearing, then start saving up for a headgasket. Most common problem when it comes to the older 2.2's.

100% right. It could be leaking very slowly from the water pump wheep hole (had similar problem with my Escalade and it was the water pump) and it will get progressively worse. Easy way to check it is to (when the car is cold) reach down to the water pump and feel the wheep hole and see if its moist. If it is, replace the pump. Also check the thermostat housing, the hoses and such. If its just magically disappearing, check the oil on ur car if u notice any sort of coolant mix in it, then the head gasket needs to be replaced. Luckily on your car its pretty simple. Also, keep a eye on your coolant tank, see if any oil is in there, normally towards the bottom of the tank. Goodluck!!
