OK so here is the problem....my car is a weekend only car, and every weekend i get in it and it wont start...it turns over, but no start.
heres the back story
I have a voltometer gauge in the cabin, i have the MSD coil swap and denso 1 stage colder spark plugs. I ll drive my car about 100 miles every weekend, itll sit for a week and when i go to start it the next saturday i get no spark.
The gauge will read about 11 volts, which is resonable considering i have a quite large stereo, but keep in mind it is all powered OFF when i try to start.
I turn the key and the engine turns over...and over..and over...no start.
ill pull out my trusty timing light, clamp it over a plug wire and turn it over..and over..and over...no flash, no start, not even a hickup.
So i then proceed to put my battery charger on the battery and get it charging....sit for 5 minutes....cranks over..still no start..still no flash on the light.....
Sits for 10 minutes..volt gauge reads over 12 now..i crank it , the timing light flashes, the engines starts up immediatly afterward.
????????????
This seems to be the routine now every weekend...car HAS to have over 12v to start...even though it turns over fine....why in the world would i not be getting spark even though theres enough power to turn the starter over for minutes at a time...none of my other cars have done this. anyone had this problem with any other car????
ps. parasitic drain test showed that after the car went into sleep mode there was a .021amp draw.......so i dont think thats the problem
