I swapped in a 98 GA LD9 into my 96 Sunfire and this plug has no where to go. Am I missing something? Can someone explain where it goes?
There appears to be two connectors coming out of the loom and both are around 4-5" long (no jokes!).
possibly plug for A/C compressor??
looks to small to be the alternator plug, but in the right spot, and roughly the right shape (small pic, cant see for sure), but thad be my guess.
I dont know what its called but its for that small valve type thingy lol thats on the a/c comressor mount. It has a hard vac line that goes to the fuel tank and one that goes to the throttle body. The plug you have there plugs into the valve. Follow the hard vac line from your throttle body and you will see the valve bolted onto the a/c compressor

Thanks for the input guys. There is one plug-in on the compressor and it has a connector to it already. there is the hard line on the back of the compressor but it has no sensor on it. It is a replacement however. The car runs with out any code so I think I will let it be ok for now. Now just need to figure out why the car tries to die when at part throttle?

It looks just like the coolant level sensor conector but not sure....
purge solonoid for the evap system.
@onecleancavy: There is no such device like the one you pictured anywhere near the 4" length of wire that has the connector on it. I think there must have been a difference in the engines of the Grand Am that didn't require the additional sensor. I will just give up on it as there is no code being thrown. Thanks for all the help guys.

For future reference, on all recent GM vehicles, all emission related electrical plug-ins have RED connectors like yours pictured. All SRS (Airbag) related sensors have YELLOW plug-ins and sometimes YELLOW wire loom covering as well. All hybrid vehicle wiring systems have ORANGE wiring looms and connectors.
