So my first real snow in Boston wasn't too good on my car. It's a 2001, 2200 with the 5-speed. I had to plow through a snow bank and it tore up my passenger side front fender well and the plastic that holds the wheel sensor wire and keeps it out of the way. However, I remembered that in GM's infinite wisdom, they put the ecm in that area as well. I looked around and, sure enough, the plugs on the ecm are now completely exposed to the elements. I tied the main harness back up as best I could and got the wheel sensor wire out of the way of the tire, but how big of a problem is the exposed ecm? I know those plugs are bolted in and have weather proof gaskets but I'm not sure I trust them. I moved away from my garage so I don't even have access to a floor jack to get under it and actually work on it until I get a chance to drive back to Pennsylvania again. I'm hoping I can let it go for a month or two and just try to avoid puddles, but I'd really hate be on my way to work when the plug decides to fill up with water. Any insight?

yea the 2200 in 01 has it in the wheel well still. It has a metal cage and a rubber cover over it. For a one time trip i wouldnt stress it but i i wouldn't let it go much more than that

yeah that's kinda what I'm thinking. If we get another good snow I think I'll be in trouble though. I didn't see the rubber cover, but I didn't look very hard either as I worked on it this morning (new years hangover). All I noticed was the wires coming from the plugs being completely exposed to the elements

Well i learn something everyday. I did not know this.
I knew it from working on my car but i learned there was a metal cage around it when my buddy got side swiped. Ripped his fender clear off. We couldn't figure out why the car wouldn't start since the frame wasn't damaged. Turns out when the PCM is 100ft down the block it doesn't talk well with the motor
