While turning the key, atempting to crank does the starter have juice from the battery?? Does it have a ground?? If you anwer those questions yes, jump the starter with a wire from the battery and see if it will start. If it does not work, replace starter, if it does, then ur ignition switch or tumbler could be bad or could be a starter relay is bad. I seen the tumbler issue on my buddies 02 LSS and it would not let the car start and cause weird other issues too. And it happened right after the engine was replaced. Goodluck.

Idk what it's problem was I checked all my wires and verifying everything was fine and in order still nothing so I jumped the starter and it cranked right up and has without jumping the starter everytime since then thought it might have went out but it isn't giving me any problems now

Hmmm weird indeed. Im almost wondering if the starter needed a little push and now its fine. Well either way, keep us posted.

Brushes were probably stuck in the stater from sitting.
